Kings of Joy Gold Stars – Agreements and Conditions

By registering for Kings of Joy Gold Stars, you agree to the following terms:

Health & Safety Disclosure

Please inform Danica of any pre-existing injuries or health conditions (short-term or long-term) that may impact your participation.

If you are pregnant, please share how far along you are and your movement history so that rehearsals can be safely adjusted.

Waiver and Release of Liability

I understand that Kings of Joy dance rehearsals (in person and online via Zoom) involve physical movement and carry the risk of injury.

I confirm that I am responsible for my own wellbeing and have consulted a medical professional if needed.

I acknowledge that:

I participate voluntarily and at my own risk.
I will reduce or stop my participation if I feel discomfort, dizziness, or any health concerns.
I release Danica Lani, the Kings of Joy coaching team, and any assisting facilitators or collaborators from any claims of injury or damages resulting from my participation in rehearsals, workshops, performances, or the use of pre-recorded content.

Refund & Cancellation Policy – Kings of Joy Gold Stars

By enrolling in Kings of Joy Gold Stars, you agree to the following:

Commitment

This is a small-group program (max. 8 participants). When you register, you are reserving one of these limited places.
Before the Program Starts

If you need to withdraw before the first rehearsal, your payment will be held as a credit toward a future round of Gold Stars. This credit must be used within 12 months of the original program start date.
After the Program Begins

Once the program has begun, all payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. This applies to both upfront and payment plan options.
Payment Plans

By choosing a payment plan, you agree to complete all instalments, even if you withdraw from the program.
Scholarship Places

If you are attending on a scholarship, this is a valued commitment. If you cannot continue, you must notify us immediately so another King may benefit.

Photo, Video & Social Media Consent

I understand that rehearsals and performances may be photographed or recorded. This content may be used by Kings of Joy and Danica Lani for promotional purposes, including but not limited to:

• Social media

• Websites

• Email newsletters

• Promotional videos

• Event advertising

I consent to the use of my image and likeness for these purposes.

If I do not want to be photographed, filmed, or tagged on social media, I understand that I must inform Danica Lani verbally or in writing. My choice will be fully respected and will not affect my participation.

As a member of Kings of Joy Gold Stars, I agree to:

Respect the identities, boundaries, and experiences of everyone in the space.
Assume good intent and practice generosity when engaging with others.
Ask for consent before touching or filming others.
Celebrate gender diversity, non-toxic masculinity, and joyful expression.

Refund Policy

Because Kings of Joy Gold Stars is a small group program with limited spots, all payments are final. If you need to withdraw before the program begins, your payment will be held as a credit toward a future round. Once rehearsals start, no refunds or credits are available.

The experience for me was truly beyond what words can capture. The universe always has a way of putting us exactly where we need to be and it is what brought me to you and this incredible experience that remains a happy blur in my mind. (It seems surreal in our current circumstances that such an event took place at all!) Before working with Danica and my beloved Kings of Joy IV, I had been dressing up in drag king a couple of times over the years. I would go in drag to drag king shows or costume parties. I loved being in drag, being around drag kings, watching drag king shows but I couldn't even start to envision how I could be on stage myself. Working with Danica helped me develop, express, and fully embody a part of myself. She created such a safe space where we all have our individuality embraced and celebrated while creating a strong sense of belonging to the group and each being a critical part of the group. That is such a rare and precious quality. Thank you Mother of Drag Kings. I can safely say deciding to participate in Kings of Joy was one of those defining life moments and I am so grateful I took the leap!

I signed up to Kings of Joy to challenge myself but I ended up growing in confidence, community and creativity. After this rough year it was a delight to make such beautiful connections to the members in my group and the greater drag community. I wasn't sure if I would ever get to find a creative community like this however this experience surpassed my wildest expectations. For the week after the performance I felt ecstatic. I never thought I would do anything like this but we did it! I've made friends, found a creative outlet for my gender expression and found a community to support my gender journey.
